Hopefully I won't have to wait that long, I mean, after the failure of my wife's business, and the debt my (former) business partner just ran up in my name, I figure I won't be able to retire until I'm in my mid to late 70s, roughly 20 years from now. The good news is now that I'm only working one job (not a contract job but a real job for the first time since 1982), and now that the kids are pretty much off on their own, my running this year has been pretty consistent. Considering the fact that prior to this year, the most miles I've ever logged in a calendar year was 700, way-way back in 1979, this year however, I've logged 1,507 to date, and if I can put in just 193 more miles in the next 26 days, I'll beat my 1979 tally by 1,000 miles.
I've got my fingers crossed (and toes, errr, sort of), keep it slow, keep it steady, and you should be good to go.
