Not sure if it's runner's knee but I've been recently getting some discomfort under my left kneecap. Have a 10K in 3 weeks, was training for and ran a half marathon 4 weeks ago. Rested for a bit the week after and now I'm running 4x a week. Training runs in the week are 7 miles or so and the weekly long runs are between 8 and 10 miles. Get a bit of discomfort the first 1/2 mile or so of a run then it feels fine.
Just wondering how much I can/should back off of my training to let the knee rest. Would like to run a strong race if possible but I'm more concerned about completing the race and staying injury free for a few more races (5K or 10K) later in the fall.
