The Texas Firecrackers Organization
The mission of the Texas Firecracker organization is to develop capable, confident young women and provide them with opportunities to attend college as elite athletes and responsible young adults. We do so by helping them develop the softball skills necessary to earn athletic scholarships, and by providing them with academic tutoring and preparation that will help them succeed as true scholar-athletes in college—and beyond.
The Strategy
The Texas Firecrackers provide nationally recognized coaches, a safe and secure environment, and state of the art training facilities to prepare players to compete in college at the highest levels by playing in elite exposure and championship tournaments across the country.
We believe that under the right guidance, competitive fastpitch softball provides young women with opportunities to learn how to prepare to succeed, learn from—and respond to—failure, make good choices in pressure situations, and learn to be responsible to themselves and others.
In addition, the Texas Firecrackers organization helps girls to succeed in high school—and better prepare for college—by providing individualized, one-on-one academic tutoring sessions in math, science, and language arts, and ACT/SAT prep courses, to all players.
Academic Support
The Texas Firecracker organization would also like to announce the addition of Lindsay Schutzler Bell to our full-time staff as the Director of Academic Support & Development.
Lindsay is a three-time All-American and three time Academic All-American who played at the University of Tennessee. Lindsay holds numerous NCAA records, played in multiple College World Series tournaments and played in the Team USA program. She holds a Master’s Degree from UCLA in Education and served as an Athletic Academic Advisor at Ohio State University. Just prior to joining the Texas Firecracker organization this summer, Lindsay was the Director of Softball Operations at the University of Tennessee.
Lindsay will be in charge of monitoring grades and academic progress, supervising academic tutoring and test preparation programs, maintaining UIL/NCAA compliance, and assisting players with additional need and merit based grants/scholarships that will complement their athletic scholarships.
Recruiting
The Texas Firecrackers organization has an extensive network of strong relationships with college coaches at every level. Check our website at www.txfirecrackers.com for a partial list of the college commitments our players have earned.
