I am attempting to get back into running after 4 foot surgeries, ending with my big toe being amputated. My gait has changed, I have a very difficult time finding comfortable shoes -- and as you might've guessed, i've gained a LOT of weight. Are there any other big-toe amputees out there who can offer advice about shoes and/or training strategies to get me back into running? Has anybody else done this successfully without injuring their ankles, knees, or hips in the process?
